Mini Band & Solo Drumming 2010

Massive congratulations to Scott Ramsbottom, who took no less than 2 second places and a third place in the adult solo drumming competition.
The band put in no less than 6 performance on the day, with a mixture of success ranging from 1st and second places for drumming and 3rd places for the band. Another succesful day, and plenty to think about and work on in the remaining three weeks leading up to our first outdoor competition of the season in Dunbar, Scotland.

Trio Piping Competition 20th March 2010

Another great resullt to add to the bands recent success at the solo piping last month. Our pipers came away from the days competition with no less than 2 first places, a second place and a third place. Congratulations to all who took part, you really did us all proud today lets keep up the good work.


AGM 2009

The AGM went ahead as planned, with a great turn out from members, learners and all of our supporters.
We were quite fortunate that only one member of the current committee was having to step down however, we was mindfull that the role that was to become vacant was going to be a difficult one to fill. So it was a pleasant surprise on the night when we not only elected a new Chairman, but also a number of other posts were filled, which will no doubt go towards easing the burden on the existing comittee members.
The committee for 2009/2010 can be found on the relevant page of our website, but a special mention must be given to our new Chairman Mrs Pauline Grace, who is already a valued member of the band. And so, on behalf of all the members, learners and supporters of the band, it's a massive welcome, thankyou and good luck to Pauline in her new role within the band.

Unfortunately Gareth Scott has had to step down owing to work and family commitments, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Gareth for his all his efforts. It's not all bad news as Gareth is still going to be an active member of the band within the pipe corp.
This does mean there is now a vacant comittee position we are looking to fill, and with the AGM fast approaching (November 2009 Date TBC) we are keen to hear from anybody who might be interesting in this or any other vacant positions - check out the comittee page for more information


Chatsworth House - Pipe Band Competition 2009

What an amazing finish to the season, with the band picking up 1st place on the day. This was made all the more special, with both the Pipe Corp & Drum Corp taking first place in their respective sections, giving the band a unanimous win.....Massive congratulations to all the players, members and supporters who have all played their part in the bands success.....please check out the photographs from the day

Cowal Pipe Band Championships 2009

Great weekend, and certainly an improvement on the worlds performance. Only one more competition to go for the band, and thats our first full season completed as the rebuilding continues to gather momentum

World Pipe Band Championships 2009

The band unfortunately didnt make the cut, and there was disapointment all round having put in probably the worst performance of the year. On reflection, everybody realised that whilst the performance was not great, it was again more valuable experience gained......on the plus side the day was brilliant, and the party on the way home on the coach was definately worthy of a winning performance, maybe Grade 1 standard!

Inverclyde, European Championships 2009

A long day, but a really good day. Unfortunately still no trophey in our cabinet but a credible performance by the band, when considering the relative short period of time the band has been re building it was good to get our 2nd major championship under our belts, which only goes to show the commitment we have to competing ....photo's to follow.

Ashbourne 2009

Cancelled due to waterlogged ground, really disapointing but at least only a week to wait for our next competition...European Championships

Annan 2009

A really busy but enjoyable weekend which stated on Friday when the band performed at warrington walking day, then straight of up of to Annan, Scotland for the weekend to take part in the annual pipeband competition............a special thanks has to be given the Queensberry arms Hotel, for their hospitality and generosity shown to the band over the weekend....don't forget to check out the photo's

Unfortunately no prizes were won on the day however, everybody felt it was a great success with all the hard work put in over winter finally paying of and giving the band the confident start we were all looking for.....check out the photo's from the day.
